Insteps was established in 1997. In 2002 the school moved to our current premises in Ludlow which has 2 purpose built dance studios complete with sprung dance floors and mirrors, boys and girls changing room facilities, reception area and shop selling a range of dance clothing and footwear.
April 2009 saw the opening of our second premises at Leominster Infant School, Hereford Road, Leominster.
Principal Leianne Jukes has been in position since August 2008. We also have our part time dance teachers Ruth Wood and Kimberley Wells. All of our dance teachers at Insteps are fully qualified teachers of dance and fully CRB checked.
Insteps Dance Academy currently has over 200 members and we offer classes in Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Tap with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus. We also teach Salsa, Ballroom, Cheerleading, Body conditioning and Street Dance and we regularly organise workshops in many other dance genres including Hip hop and Contempory. Please also contact us for Wedding dances.
All of our classes are lively and creative with an emphasis on teaching dance technique and helping students to recognise the beauty and strength of dance as an art form. At Insteps we set our standards high but we also ensure we have fun and enjoyment in a safe environment.
Dance can be very valuable to children and adults for many reasons. The benefits include improvement in physical fitness, the building of confidence and character, along with the learning of new skills and self discipline. These qualities and skills also enhance lives away from the dance studio.
Dance allows the students to become more energised, assist in developing the ability to concentrate, and experience being part of a team. Dance will help our bodies become not only stronger but increase flexibility and co-ordination. Through this exercise we will also develop self expression and musical awareness.
We provide a purposeful, fun and educational environment to learn the art of dance, music and performance. At Insteps we believe that learning and dancing should be both stimulating and enjoyable, like everything in life, the more you put in the more you will get out of it.
We offer examinations in Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz for the ISTD faculty. If Students feel confident and happy they can have the opportunity to enter the examinations which are held at the studio usually twice a year. At Insteps we have a 100% pass rate for all our exams with excellent results.
Students are also encouraged if comfortable to perform in local productions both for Insteps and other amateur and professional companies.
We also participate in several dance festivals throughout the year and have been successful in winning many cups and trophies. Insteps produce their own school show each year held at the Ludlow assembly room. This gives all students over the age of 5 the chance to perform on stage with their classmates.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Leianne at info@instepsdance.com or call on 01584 879 316. We look forward to hearing from you.
